The CollabARTive artists are a group of artists and residents from the Transitional Housing Program for homeless men at the Peter & Paul Community Center. Here the arts component has become an integral part of their recovery and has played a significant role in transforming the lives of these talented men.

Inspiration:

We were very excited at the community collabARTive when this project was awarded to our group. We are a collection of community artists and residents from the Transitional Housing Program for homeless men at Peter & Paul Community Services. The work’s title, “Fly Away Home,” represents the goal of all the men to have a home to call their own. We learned painting and mosaic application techniques and collaborated willingly, inspired by the opportunity to help others. This rare and rewarding experience led to a beautiful piece of sculpture and a sense of pride for all involved.
