Deborah’s love for painting allows her to create a sense of mystery that comes from exploring color, shape, light and form. Her bold work in acrylic and watercolor allows people an opportunity to journey to a new place.
My work was inspired by Wassily Kandinsky’s works.
Kandinsky was born in Moscow in 1866 and was a painter and art theorist. He is credited with painting the first modern abstract works. He was intrigued with color as a child, and later, as an artist, explored color and form in unique compositions. Kandinsky believed there was no “right way” to create art and that children often challenge our beliefs regarding art and life. Kandinsky once said, “I remember that drawing, and a little bit later painting, lifted me out of the reality.”
Art has the ability to lift people out of their reality and gives them a respite from every day life as they move on the journey the artist has created. Hopefully this design, created on behalf of children, gives all who view it an opportunity to journey to new places.
